Meters with Reconciled Values Below Minimum or Above Maximum
This analysis rule includes the list of meter elements that have a reconciled value below the minimum or above the maximum. When the reconciled value falls outside the range indicated by the element's minimum and maximum, the solution is falling outside normal operating parameters and needs to be examined for further issues. This condition can indicate the following:
- Missing data
- Bad data
- Invalid lineups
The following table lists a sample log output for this analysis.
Sample Log
| Time | Severity | Element | Attribute | Message |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9/1/2005 10:06 | ...REPORTING METERS WITH RECONCILED VALUE BELOW MINIMUM/ABOVE MAXIMUM - BASIS= MASS (KG) | |||
| 9/1/2005 10:06 | Error | MeterA | ReconciledMass | ReconciledMass= -5 below Minimum= 0, Attached Flow: FlowA |
| 9/1/2005 10:06 | Error | MeterB | ReconciledMass | ReconciledMass= 0 below Minimum= 10, Attached Flow: FlowB |
Analysis Method
- Collect a list of all meter elements in the current Case that satisfy the following criteria:
- Status Attribute value is IS (In Service).
- Based on the analysis basis selection, mass or volume, compare the reconciled value to the minimum and maximum attributes.
- Write to the log section of the case. Report the violating meter information.
Configuration Using the Wizard
The configuration of the Meters with Reconciled Values below the Minimum or above the Maximum is a selection of the General Gross Error Analysis Rule. You open the window for configuring the test (shown in the following figure) from the General Gross Error Analysis Rule Wizard.
Open the Gross Error Configuration window as described in Configuring - General Gross Error Analysis Rule.
On the Meters tab, select Meters with reconciled values below the minimum or above the maximum.
A Meters with reconciled values below the minimum or above the maximum - Attributes window opens.

Select the measurement basis and the Attributes according to the following table:
Attributes
Selections Description Measurement Basis Select mass or volume measurement basis for comparison. Reconciled Meter reconciled value. The default is 'ReconciledMass' or 'ReconciledVolume' depending on mass or volume selection. Minimum Meter minimum flow value. The default is 'MinimumMass' or 'MinimumLiquidVol', depending on mass or volume selection. Maximum Meter maximum Flow value. The default is 'MaximumMass' or 'MaximumLiquidVol', depending on mass or volume selection. Status Element in/out of service status. This defaults to 'ObjectStatus'. Click OK to finish the configuration.
The text "CONFIGURED" displays next to the 'Meters with reconciled values below the minimum or above the maximum' selection.
